Faith and Life in Ireland

On Sunday November 26th at 2.30pm tens of thousands of people from all over the island of Ireland will gather at about 200 locations on our coasts to pray for the protection of Faith and Life in Ireland. November 26th is the Feast of Christ the King and Ireland was the first country in the world to be consecrated to Christ the King.

The Rosary on the Coasts for Life and Faith prayer programme includes a renewal of this consecration. The all island prayer initiative was inspired by several important developments organisers say: the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima, a 33 day personal consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which is currently taking place involving over 30,000 people and families in Ireland, and of course the Polish and Italian  “Rosary on the Borders,” which last month involved over two million people praying for a strengthening of faith and an ending of abortion.

The organising committee is largely made up of young lay Catholics from around the country who feel passionate about their country and who have been saddened by the great loss of faith, and sense of despair that many of their peers feel.   They have been greatly encouraged by the huge response, even if it means answering 500-1,000 emails, facebook messages, phonecalls and texts each day.  For more information please visit address www.coastalrosaryireland.ie.
