Golden Jubilee

Last Saturday 10th of June Carbury Parish celebrated a milestone in the life of its local priests.  Rev. Fr. Pat Farrelly was ordained fifty years ago. So it was his Golden Jubilee. Present were his sisters Gladdie and Sheila and family members.

Darren Baldwin, did the reading. Fr Farrelly read the Gospel. Msgr Pat Brown preached the Homily. Fr Murphy led the prayers of the faithful. Fr P.J, McEvoy read the citation. Fr Fitzpatrick was the main celebrant of the Mass.  The citation was presented to Fr Farrelly after Mass as well as the good wishes of many Parishioners. A cup of tea was provided in the sacristy afterwards with sandwiches and sausage rolls and chicken wings, cheesecake and other desserts. There was a beautiful mixed fruit celebration cake.

Fr Farrelly served most of his priesthood in the Birmingham area. Since his retirement, he has helped out in Carbury and Edenderry. We send him every good wish and thank him and God for his years as a priest. Ad Multos Annos.
