Pope Francis asks all people of good will to engage with a new, cutting-edge technology powered by the Pontifical Missions Societies called MISSIO. First launched by the Holy Father in 2013 as a mobile application offering news about the hope-filled work being done around the world by the Catholic Church, the platform – now available on desktops and mobile devices – offers a direct connection to change-makers who work on the “frontlines” making a difference for the poor and marginalized through direct, daily service.

“The MISSIO platform connects change-makers around the world in a way that’s never been done before. Now you can explore projects, share them with friends and family through social media, make a donation or even ‘adopt’ a cause that is particularly appealing to you,” said Oblate Father Andrew Small, national director of the Pontifical Missions Societies in the United States. “More importantly, you can interact directly with missionaries and other members of the MISSIO community and get to know personally the people you are helping.”

Pope Francis’ concern and love for the poor is no secret. With Missio, you can answer the Holy Father’s call and bring compassion and real change to those who need it most.

Now when you join MISSIO, you will be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Vatican City in May 2017.  To become a part of the MISSIO community, simply fill out the form on this page. You can also visit MISSIO.org or download the MISSIO app for Android or IOS devices and enter your name and email address.  Winners will be announced on February 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.

The Pontifical Mission Societies are the Catholic Church’s official support organization for overseas missions since 1822, providing for a global network of people who are making a difference for communities in need around the globe.
